Successfully managed role of Presiding Officer during Karonga 2024 by-elections. • Guiding DEST, DCECC, MPLC, and other Council stakeholders on electoral matters • Leading the demarcation and review of ward and constituency boundaries • Leading the storage, distribution, and retrieval of electoral material and resources • Liaising with relevant election officers on electoral matters • Supervising both permanent and temporary electoral staff at the Council level • Taking part in the recruitment and training of registration and polling staff at the District level • Facilitating the delivery of CVE materials at the council level • Representing MEC at technical meetings with relevant stakeholders at the council level • Producing appropriate reports as required from time to time • Successfully managed and executed the role of Presiding Officer during the Karonga 2024 by-elections • Receiving and securing all necessary polling materials • Conducting thorough briefings for polling staff at the center to ensure they were well-prepared • Inspect the polling station before polling day to verify readiness • Ensuring the polling center adhered to scheduled opening and closing times • Overseeing all election-related activities at the polling station to maintain order and legality • Facilitating the accurate and efficient counting of votes post-polling • Completing all necessary forms and documentation required at the polling station • Transporting and submitting all polling materials and records to the District Coordinator after the counting and recording of results • Ensuring all polling activities complied with the relevant laws and regulations
